John Stavros spoke with The National Herald about his autobiography, ‘Soccer Fashion Icon’, published by Olympia Publishers, London. The multitalented Stavros, with experience in the fields of marketing, promotions, sports, fashion, music, and entertainment, specializing in private events/productions, began his career at a young age. He was always a star soccer player in all of his youth teams and became a Hall of Famer at Long Island University (LIU). He then went on to be drafted by the New York Cosmos in 1974. He formed the soccer team, the NY Atlas, a top semi-pro team in the U.S. He created and coached the first women’s modern soccer team-the SSTs.
